Ode to Hotel Rooms

Hello World!

I'm probably writing this to myself and I'm completely fine with that. It's been a minute since I've published an entry but I wanted to get a few things off my brain and share a few emotions with you.  So you can get a sense of how relaxed I am right now let me set the mood.  Imagine that you are in a plush, five star hotel room.  Much like this one.  You are lying in your complimentary monogrammed robe in a king size bed complete with an excess of heavenly white, downed pillows and oversized bedding complete with sheets that feel better than the highest thread count of Egyptian cotton. 


 
 
You are free from worry or obligation today.  It's your day off, there are no kids in sight.  The Blackberry is off.  The only sound is the quiet hum of the air and heating unit and occasionally breeze against the window allowing you to peer into the city. 
 
Now that you have the visual you can only imagine the feeling of euphoria that I experienced during this time.  This day was not just one of total pampering although, that day will come soon with an excursion that will not take place beyond the grounds of a lush resort and spa.  Allowing my inner extrovert to enjoy also, I decided to make my spontaneous trip include other activities beyond the walls of this grand hotel.  I found a way to add shopping, partaking in some mouthwatering meals and striking some pretty interesting conversations with complete strangers.  The day was filled with everything I could muster to treat myself. 
 
You may be wondering if I was celebrating something.  The answer is quite simple.  Yes.  I was celebrating me.  I'm afraid for the past few years I have been the captain of the cheerleading squad for numerous loved ones, friends and most recently ex but been slacking on cheering for myself.  Just enjoying this time to myself made me realize that I must not forget to pamper and spoil the inner me.  She needs love too.  So with that I will leave you and I hope you make time for yourself because when there is no one around who is going to love you-like you?

Only three steps away from the crackling fire, I am nestled in an oversized sofa with my favorite cashmere throw.  The candle warmer is working overtime emitting the fragrance of soft powder and jasmine wax purchased at the candle boutique days earlier and the music in the distance is a mix of smooth jazz and oldies.  I peer out the large bay window of the great room at the most picturesque vision. A mountain peak is covered in thick sheets of snow....Screeeeeeeech!!! All of this this would be amazing if it were real. Offense vs. Love and Purposeful thinking

Good Morning World, Today we are going to talk about offense. Below I have a couple verses and a short post I would like to share with you. Is that alright? And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Philippians 1:9‭-‬10 KJV http://bible.com/1/php.1.9-10.KJV Offense The referenced Bible passage is reflective and confirmation I received on how to deal with an offense, most recently one that happened yesterday. While the offense does not warrant elaboration or another minute of emotional response the text does serve as a powerful lesson that love and purposeful thinking is always needed. Love. I look at the mention of love in this text and in the context that it heals and allows for forgiveness. That it allows wisdom to permeate while addressing less than pleasure experiences. Make others a Believer

Good Morning World, This morning during my quiet time I came across a a piece of scripture that defines my drive for 2016.  It comes from 1 Timothy 4:12 that says,  Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
