Offense vs. Love and Purposeful thinking

Good Morning World,

Today we are going to talk about offense. Below I have a couple verses and a short post I would like to share with you. Is that alright?

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Philippians 1:9‭-‬10 KJV http://bible.com/1/php.1.9-10.KJV

Offense

The referenced Bible passage is reflective and confirmation I received on how to deal with an offense, most recently one that happened yesterday. While the offense does not warrant elaboration or another minute of emotional response the text does serve as a powerful lesson that love and purposeful thinking is always needed.

Love. I look at the mention of love in this text and in the context that it heals and allows for forgiveness. That it allows wisdom to permeate while addressing less than pleasure experiences. Also that love allows the heart not to be hardened  preventing clear perspective, judgments and decisions that may spring from offense.

Purposeful thinking. The second component to this is purposeful thinking. When things happen we can choose to focus on the offense or things that are excellent. We do not have to focus on these offenses which can lead to lack of love and/or need for retribution. We can redirect our thoughts and emotions onto something excellent. Onto something praiseworthy.

Wrapping up. I see from these verses that love and purposeful thinking can increase our wisdom and govern the way we handle ourselves, others and situations. The thought that I can and have changed the direction of a negative experience into a positive lesson is excellent in itself.

So I hope my brief take on offense and how we can change the tide helps whoever is checking out this post. Keep traveling, living, thinking and loving people.

Until next time....
